Workflow
- Step 1. Receive the live cell sample under chain-of-custody.
- Step 2. Synchronise cells and arrest at metaphase (colchicine).
- Step 3. Hypotonic treatment, fixation, and G-banding.
- Step 4. Microscopy: capture and count metaphase spreads (typically 20).
- Step 5. Karyotype report with modal number, abnormalities, and clonal events.
